The Campus Model of Bioscience relies on two main pillars:
- International Postgraduate School of Bioscience - EPIBIO, which will guarantee an improvement of the teaching system and its adaptation to the EHEA.
- Creation of Bio-transfer as a research and knowledge transfer model that will guarantee scientific improvement and the transfer of knowledge and technology.
Biotransfer
Objectives:
-
Assessing research results in order to transfer them to the market, particularly to the fields of pharmaceutics, biotechnology, food and agriculture, health, cosmetics and science industries (R+D+I laboratories, etc.).
-
Optimizing management of the scientific and technological resources of the CEI, creating a comprehensive scientific and technical offer for research centres and for the productive fabric.
-
Creating a market-oriented culture that continues to take into account scientific excellence, along the lines of the fulfilment of the third mission of the Universities.
-
Leading the specialization process for technology management and transfer.
This model is based on the organization of the platforms and the existing resources of the University of Salamanca, together with the centres and institutions that are already part of Bio-transfer in the fields of oncology, neurosciences, agro-biotechnology and laser technologies, among others, in order to channel the transfer of any knowledge that may have biological applications, either through its own projects or by means of cooperation with other universities, public research institutions or companies.
